Over time, humans accumulate way too many things. It’s normal, especially if you live in the same home for several years. But it can be frustrating when you’re trying to declutter and organize your space. Whether you have unused gifts stashed away in a closet, purchases you thought you’d use but never did, or things you’ve simply outgrown, sometimes it’s good to clean house and get rid of your junk. If you want to try to make some money from your belongings, here are some tips for selling your unwanted clutter.

1. Find out how much your junk can sell for.
If you’re selling things that are in high demand, do some online research and figure out what the market price is. If you’re in a rush to sell, simply undercut the market price and offer potential buyers a good deal.

2. Store your things.
If you’re selling some things and are firm on price, consider keeping them in a storage unit until you get a worthy offer. Storage contracts and pricing are flexible, depending on what you need.

3. Use Craigslist.
Craigslist is like a worldwide yard sale. Simply create a free listing, and wait for people to respond. Craigslist is great because it’s visible to anyone and everyone, and you know what they say: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

4. Have an actual yard sale.
If you don’t want to store items until they sell, think about having a yard sale. Put flyers up around your neighborhood, and state: “All items must go!”. You might not get as much cash for y your junk, but your things will sell more quickly.
